Wed Feb 3 -- We are open for all classes that fall between the hours of 12 noon - 8:15 pm. IF the weather starts getting yucky again before 8:15 pm, we will close and have the students call home to get picked up early. It is supposed to be warmer tomorrow and the entrance to our parking lot from Corporation Street is clear. I think we will be ok during those hours. Thurs Feb 4 -- Normal classes UNLESS the predicted storm comes in early. I am always able to change our outgoing phone message so that it is current. Welcome to Legacy Studios for the Performing Arts.  We are Durham and the Triangle area's premier dance studio offering dance instruction in ballet, pointe, hip hop, jazz, modern and tap.  In addition we provide instruction in yoga, flamenco, aerial dance and swing.

Legacy Studios for the Performing Arts is proud to include the AMERICAN BALLET THEATRE® National Training Curriculum, a breakthrough 8 level program that combines high quality artistic training with the basics of dancer health and child development. The ABT® National Training Curriculum consists of a comprehensive set of age-appropriate, outcome-based guidelines to provide the highest quality ballet training to dance students of all ages and skill levels. Primary through Level 3 will be taught by ABT® Certified Teacher, Boleyn Willis-Zeger, who has successfully completed the ABT® Teacher Training Intensive in Primary through Level 3 of the ABT® National Training Curriculum.

Why "Legacy"
As dancers and teachers, we owe a debt to those who have gone before us in the classical tradition. There are teachers, choreographers and other dancers, all of whom have given us something. They have passed their legacy on to us. And we in turn pass it along to the next generation of dancers. One of my teachers and mentors, Mrs. Barbara Bounds Milone has given me more than she will ever know. Legacy is named in honor of her and the time and love she devoted to this art form. Mixed Ability Dance!
Legacy Studios for the Performing Arts will offer a dance class for students with mixed abilities.  Legacy will start offering the class on Feb 6, 2010.  Mixed Ability dance will be offered on Saturdays from 2pm - 3pm.
